Gloucester City have continued to strengthen ahead of the 2026/27 season with the additions of Morgan Lewis, Tom Owen-Evans, Jake Evans and Ben Nugent as manager Daf Williams continues to shape his squad for the new campaign.
Defender Morgan Lewis returns to the club following an impressive spell at the KMM Energy Stadium last season. The versatile left-sided defender joined on loan during the previous campaign and quickly became a key figure with his energetic displays and defensive consistency.
Capable of playing at left-back, wing-back or the left side of a back three, the 21-year-old brings athleticism and composure to the City back line. The former Cardiff City academy player has also gained experience with Weston-super-Mare, Taunton Town and Merthyr Town before making the move to GL2 permanent.
"I am so excited to get going." said Lewis on his return.
"I really enjoyed my time here on loan last season. We were so unlucky in the playoffs and I feel I wanted to go one better with the club.
"I think Daf is great manager, from what I saw last year it just makes me excited to work with him for a full season, to see how well I can improve and how far this group can go this year.
"We have shown we are good enough to get promoted, we can go one step further this year and be successful to give the fans what they deserve come the end of the season."
"The were great last year the fans, they made me feel so welcome and especially in those play-off games you could hear them all game. I can't wait to get going."

Joining him is experienced attacking midfielder Tom Owen-Evans, a player well known throughout the National League system. Owen-Evans adds creativity, technical quality and knowledge to City's midfield options after previous spells with Hereford, Cheltenham Town and several other clubs across non-league football.
The midfielder’s ability to operate centrally or in advanced wide positions is expected to provide Daf Williams with added flexibility in attacking areas.
"I am buzzing to be back, I know a lot of the boys and I know Daf quite well. It is a club with a lot of nice memories and I can't wait to get going.
"The fans are great here, I came here for the play-off semi and it's nights like that and occasions like that, that I want to be a part of.
"I've only heard good things about Daf. The fact that he was really positive about me and that he wanted to have me at the football club made me feel happy.
"Hopefully I can come here and hit the ground running, scoring goals in front of those fans.
"Like I said the club is obviously doing something right, hopefully with me and a few other additions we can get the club over the line as a team and get the job done of promotion."

City have also secured the signing of Jake Evans, another addition aimed at strengthening the squad’s central depth.
Evans arrives with a reputation for high energy, direct running and versatility across the pitch, qualities he club hope will help increase the quality of the squad.
The 28-year-old previously had a loan spell at the club in the 2024/25 season, impressing in the midfield as well as utilising his ability and versatility in full-back areas too.
"It feels great to be back!" said Evans on his return.
"Everyone at the club makes me feel so welcome when I come back here. It is a great club Daf didn't need to sell it to me and I am just delighted to be on board.
"The squad that we've got plays a nice style of football, it is a really competitive squad and after speaking with Daf I am really excited to see how far this group can go and hopefully be a part of a big promotion push.
"The other lads have told me that the way he likes to play suits ball-playing footballers which suits me, I have seen some non-negotiables in the changing rooms that were not there when I was last here that suits me down to a T, after speaking with him already I can just tell he is going to bring the best out of me and that we are going to get on just fine."

Meanwhile, defender Ben Nugent adds further experience and physicality to the Tigers’ defensive options.
Nugent’s leadership qualities and composure at the back are expected to play an important role both on the pitch and within the dressing room as we target a strong 2026/2027 Southern League campaign.
"We've got to keep that momentum going." said Nugent on signing day.
"The aim has to be promotion whether it be going the whole way to the title to through the play-offs. I get the sense that the infrastructure at the club is a lot more stable and calm, I am looking forward to getting started by striving towards promotion from the off.
"I am really excited, I have known Daf for a while and he is extremely professional. I certainly have a lot of respect for him and I want to do well for him, he was a big part in me joining the club, that relationship that I have got with Daf."
