Chertsey Town head from Surrey to Gloucestershire eyeing up a playoff place in the Southern League Premier Divison South as they currently sit eighth in the table.
Saturday's match up will be the first league encounter in the clubs history, with the only other fixture played between these two sides being a 5-0 win for the Tigers in the first round of the FA Trophy in October 1998.
The visitors will be buoyed by their 1-0 victory against National League side Dagenham & Redbridge FC in the FA Trophy on Wednesday night highlighting the sides quality and ability to turn it on against sides in the higher levels.
They also went close in the FA Cup losing just 3-1 to Sutton United after missing a penalty to level the scores at 2-2 before conceding right at the death to take the game away from them.
Currently sat six points off the playoffs with a game in hand over fifth place Dorchester Town, The Curfews are hoping to get another win to build up on their impressive away showings this season.
They currently have the joint third best away form in the divison alongside the TIgers having picked up 13 points in their nine away games thus far only bettered by the top two in the division Merthyr Town and AFC Totton.
The away side who only got promoted from the Isthmian League South Central last season have played host to some of the most exciting games in the league so far.
Currently Chertsey are the joint second top scorers in the league, while on the contrary only Tiverton Town, Plymouth Parkway, Marlow and Frome Town have conceded more goals this season.
Chaotic games include a 3-3 draw at home to Winchester City, a 3-2 away success over Taunton Town while their defensive frailties were exposed in their 4-3 home loss to Swindon Supermarine.
They also demolished Marlow 5-0 away from home, while hammering Sholing Town 4-0 and comfortably beating Basingstoke Town 3-0 within the space of a month showcasing the attacking force that they will present for Saturday's match up.
Chertsey's star man to watch out for will be Jack Mazzone currently sat on 15 goals for the season in the league, including hat tricks in the past month against Taunton Town and Basingstoke Town, as well as a goal against National League side Sutton United in the FA Cup.
Other threats to be aware about is Conor Lee a bombarding full back and Bill Montague a midfielder who netted the winner in the Trophy showcasing that the newly promoted side have talent all over the park.
They currently are going throughy a sticky patch of form in the league with just one win in their last four games losing three of those albeit to tricky opposition in table toppers Merthyr Town, AFC Totton and Gosport Borough who have played at least two games less than any opposition but are better than their position shows.
Despite their recent wobble they will be a tough opposition to stop with seven of their last victories in all competiton, the Curfews have scored at least three goals in every single one of these victories.
They have already conceded more goals this season than in their title winning triumph in 2023/24 having already conceded 33 so far this year, one more than in the previous season in which they also broke the 100 point barrier and scored 103 times.
Chertsey's boss is Mark Harper, a former player for the club just like Mike Cook was for City having taken charge for the 2023/24 season and then guiding them to the title in his first season.
After their stunning exploits the year prior, they will be hoping they can make it two promotions on the trot if they sort out a defence that is damaging their aspirations.
