Gloucester City AFC is proud to announce the introduction of a Reserve Team for the 2026/27 season, competing in the Herefordshire Premier Division (Step 7).

The creation of the Reserve Team represents a significant step forward in the club’s long-term player development pathway, providing a vital bridge between our successful Youth Programme and First Team football.

Josh Taylor, Head of Coaching, said:

“We are really pleased to put this structure in place. A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to bridge the gap between our Under-18s and First Team. Hopefully, this will allow us to see even more young players progress through what is already a successful youth system and continue their development within Gloucester City.”

Shaun Poole, Head Coach, added:

“I’m really excited for the season to get started. We have a young, exciting squad full of potential that is ready to take the next step and be called upon when opportunities arise. The Reserve Team will play an important role in preparing players for senior football and supporting the club’s long-term ambitions.”

The club is also delighted to confirm the continued commitment of the management team for the 2026/27 season, with Shaun Poole remaining as Head Coach, Ollie Taylor as Assistant Manager and Coach, and Tom Kear as Head of Recruitment.
