New media additions

2023/24 promises to be a great season on the pitch, and an exciting one off it too as we announce several new additions to our media output.

Firstly we are delighted to be relaunchingT-End Talk as the official Gloucester City AFC Podcast, hosted by Severn Sport’s Ryan Butler. T-End Talk enjoyed a successful first run last season and it will return better than ever with a fresh start and new guests. The  first episode of the new series will feature City forward Danny Wright, Gloucestershire Live’s Charlie Barnett, and GCAFC Head of Media Matt Phillips.

Secondly, we are excited to announce that Tigers Radio will be returning for 2023/24, bringing you live home match commentary. Gloucester City proudly pioneered internet radio commentary for non league football in 2010 when Tigers Radio was first launched and we are committed to bringing back this service for fans who are unable to attend home matches.

Thirdly we are pleased to once again provide opportunities within sports media to the University of Gloucestershire Sports Journalism degree course, and we have also expanded by inviting UoG TV Production Students to gain experience and enhance our media output.

The culmination of this will see a first for the club, as we look to launch a brand new weekly half-hour programme which will be aired on Saturday mornings from our new media studio. The programme will be produced and presented by UoG students, with the aim of providing a City-themed ‘Football Focus’ style matchday preview.

To assist us with our ambitious improvements we welcome on board professional videographer Kieran Gibbs as Head of Content. Kieran runs his own videography studio Shot By Kieran and his experience will be invaluable as we look to improve our video content.

We are still looking for media volunteers for the coming season in the following roles:

  • Matchday Camera Operators

  • Assistant Matchday PA Announcer/Scoreboard Operator
