Armstrong re-signs

Gloucester City is delighted to welcome back goalkeeper Liam Armstrong for the 2023/24 season.

Liam, who joined the club in 2021 from Bristol Rovers and has made 13 appearances for City, recovered from a broken foot last season to put in some fine performances including a match-winning save in the 4-3 victory over Chorley.

The stopper is looking forward to making the number one shirt his own this season:

"I’m really glad to be back, it’s a place I’ve grown very fond of over the past couple of years and I felt we did the City proud last season. I’ve spoken to Tim quite a lot over the last couple of weeks and his pedigree speaks for itself, he’s a Premier League winning goalkeeper and obviously that’s a massive draw for me and I feel I’ve done enough to earn the chance to make the number one shirt my own. It’s brilliant to be back, I’ve met a few of the new players today and they seem like genuine blokes willing to work hard for the club. I've got a positive mindset and I can't wait for next season."
