Club Statement: Mike Cook

Following the conclusion of the season, the club board has elected not to renew Mike Cook’s contract as first team manager.

We wish to place on record our sincere thanks to Mike who came back to the club at a difficult time and built a squad fit to challenge for the playoffs last season.

Chairman Colin Taylor said: “We have decided that a fresh approach is needed next season. Mike has been a true professional in his entire time here, I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone at the club when I send him my thanks and wish him all the very best for the future. I spoke to Mike over the telephone as he is on holiday, I would have preferred to speak face to face but it was crucial that we acted quickly in order to start preparations for next season. We have acted decisively and we have already selected our new manager who will be announced very soon.”
