Following a recent meeting of the Women's Football Pyramid Committee, both of our women's sides
divisional allocation has been made within the Women's Football Pyramid for the 2025/26 season.
We can confirm that our Women's first team will be allocated to the South West Regional Women's League Premier Division (Tier 5) for the 2025/26 season, and our Women’s Reserve Team have been double promoted into the South West Regional Women’s Football League Division 1 North (Tier 6) via the FA promotion pool.
The Reserve Team's promotion is a testament to their outstanding performances throughout the previous season and this advancement reflects the club's ongoing commitment to developing women's football and providing clear pathways for talent progression.
Women's First Team Manager Chris Hill had this to say on the news: "This is simply amazing news for the club. It is a testament to the efforts of all involved with the reserve teams last season to even be considered by the FA Women’s Football Pyramid Team and I am delighted for them all. The step up as the first team have found is a big one but I know the players will be more than ready for the challenges that lie ahead. It highlights the work we are putting in on and off the pitch, getting the structure right behind the scenes and making the most of the amazing facilities we have at The Tigerturf Stadium."
This double promotion marks not just a reward for a season of exceptional commitment and quality from the Reserve Team, but also a statement of intent from Gloucester City AFC. With a clear development pathway now firmly in place, and both the First Team and Reserves competing at increasingly competitive levels, the future is bright for women's football in Gloucester. As the Tigresses continue to rise, the club remains steadfast in its ambition to build a sustainable, successful, and inspiring environment for female players across all levels. The journey is only just beginning.
