Gloucester City AFC are delighted to announce the loan signing of 17-year-old forward Sopuruchukwu Obieri from Cheltenham Town FC.
The Gloucester based teenager joins our side having had loan spells with Hungerford Town and Worcester City last season, helping Worcester to promotion from the Northern Premier League Midland Division.
Obieri scored an unprecedented 86 goals in a season for the Gloucester Primary Schools squad, which shows that the youngster is no stranger to hitting the back of the net.

Manager Daf Williams expressed his excitement at bringing Obieri into the squad:
"Having seen him play, and speaking with a lot of people in the game about his ability, character, and potential, I’d like to think we are getting him at an early stage of his career where he can kick on. He’s a Gloucester boy and is looking forward to representing the football club. I’m really looking forward to working closely with him."
Speaking about the move, Obieri said:
“Gloucester are a massive club, I understand the expectation. I spoke to the manager as well and he has high expectations and with that we want to get promoted. I can't wait to get started and I can't wait to score in front of the T-End.”
Welcome to City Sopuru!
