City come away deserved winners in our last evening match of the season after a 6-0 thumping over bottom of the table Tiverton Town.

The Tigers were quick out of the trap scoring after just two minutes through some Kane Simpson magic. Simpson broke up the right-hand side, he sublimely flicked the ball onto his weaker left foot and curled into the side netting to give us the dream start.

The pedal continued to be on full-throttle and soon enough the Tiverton defence cracked again. Captain Keiran Thomas was the victim of a high-boot inside the opposition's box, giving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. Joe Hanks stepped up and slotted cooly, sending John-Morgan Ross the wrong way doubling City's lead and also levelling the club's record for penalties scored, alongside Alex Sykes on 19.

Tivvy began to settle and have a few more touches on the ball however after an Ed Williams lob Morgan Ross' evening went from bad to worse. Williams received the ball after a clearance from a City corner, whipping the ball into an awkward area for the keeper, eventually the ball dropped underneath the crossbar and our number seven wheeled away in celebration, only once he knew it had definitely hit the back of the net.

The second-half began and the youthful hosts side looked to grow into the game a little more after the half-time regroup however City also looked at their bests which raised alarm bells once again for Asa Hall's Tiverton and before they knew it their hard work was undone by Simpson's second of the afternoon.

Another set-piece for City pays off when Sion Spence whipped the ball delightfully into the six yard box and the feintest of touches from City's 20 directed the ball goalwards to put us four to the good just before the hour mark.

Deflated and defeated were the hosts and City didn't stop there, utilising the very strong bench through Elis Watts, Cuba Mitchell, MacKenzie Stretton and Liam Cross who all were introduced after the fourth goal.

I didn't take long for the fresh legs to kick into gear and five minutes before the 90 Coventry City loanee Stretton scored his first goal in senior football. A great touch from Simpson led to the striker turning from scorer to provider, finding Stretton who made a delightful run in-behind, he took his time and poked the ball into the bottom right corner, showing true joy in his celebration and a moment the youngster will never forget.

The sixth came shortly after when Liam Cross wonderfully made his way up the left hand side, cutting the ball into some space and floating a cross onto the forehead of Simpson who nodded home to complete his hat-trick and to round off a perfect evening at the Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium.
