Reaction | Upbeat despite late set-back

Despite the obvious disappointment of conceding a stoppage time equaliser on Tuesday evening to share the spoils with Berkhamsted in a 3-3 draw, City boss, Daf Williams, has taken the positives.

“That’s ten points from our games over the course of the month, which is a good return,” he said. “Yes, we were disappointed with the outcome of Tuesday’s game, particularly conceding so late, but the attitude, endeavour and effort of my players cannot be questioned.

“We’ve got good characters in that dressing room and I continue to be proud of each of them. The frustrating thing is that the red card changed the course of the game and cost us at the death.

“We know that we have to be able to defend our box better, but we won’t get too down about it; the sense of disappointment shows the high standards that we have as a group.

“It’s a tough period with players carrying knocks and a few of them feeling under the weather, but we’ll get through it.

“Our attention turns to the FA Trophy on Saturday and the visit of Havant & Waterlooville. Hopefully we’ll come through it with a positive result and progress into the next round.

“We want to be winning games of football and that’s what we will be looking to do at the weekend to take into what is a busy month of November with the games coming thick and fast.”
