City were at their resilient best on Monday evening as we battled out a hard-earned but fully-deserved 2-0 victory at Bracknell Town.

Late goals from Elis Watts and Aaron Wildig gave us the points as we moved back on top of the Pitching In Southern League Premier South table.

It was a result and performance that delighted manager, Daf Williams.

“I am absolutely delighted,” he said. “I am so proud of the players, in fact, it’s the proudest I have been all season!

“Credit to our hosts because their current position in the table doesn’t reflect the quality they have; they have a good shape and structure and are well-organised, so for us to go to what is a difficult place and come home with three points and a clean sheet, is fantastic.

“We’ve gone Saturday-Monday, which is difficult in itself, and had to be extremely resilient. We’ve had to change our shape and do something a bit different tactically, but we were able to rise above that and get the job done.

“As I say, I am proud of the lads. We’ve got so much quality here, both individually and collectively, and we’re in a very good place right now.

“This was a good test of our character and mind set and we’ve come through it with flying colours.

“I love the fans to bits and I’d like to thank those that showed tremendous commitment to back us here. I’m running out of words to use to praise the support that we get; it certainly does the football club and the city proud.

“Now we need good numbers and plenty of noise on Saturday when we return to home action for what will be another tough test against Poole Town, who have started the season really well.”

You heard the man! Get yourself along to New Meadow Park on Saturday and give the team the backing that they need and richly deserve.

Daf Williams hit the nail on the head when he said this victory was a 'good test of our character and mind set.' Winning those points and keeping a clean sheet at a difficult ground speaks volumes. You can really feel the manager's pride in his team, especially when he says it's the 'proudest I have been all season.' The way he describes their character and mindset makes me imagine the scenes! It reminds me of how creative AI tools have become; for instance, a Zeva AI Image Generator can bring all sorts of concepts to life visually.

What a performance to come away with a 2-0 win at Bracknell, especially after a tough 'Saturday-Monday' schedule. That takes real effort from the players on the pitch! I've been making sure to maintain good support for my knees during my daily walks lately, and I've found a knee brace support that works well for me.

Those late goals from Elis Watts and Aaron Wildig must have been thrilling, embodying the 'resilient best' Daf talked about! It's great to see the team's character shine through in those crucial moments. The manager's comment about having to 'change our shape and do something a bit different tactically' really highlights the team's flexibility and intelligence. It's impressive they could adapt and still secure a clean sheet against a quality side like Bracknell.
