Preview | Pinchard proud to break 100-game milestone

City return to home action on Saturday with the visit of Chertsey Town for the first of two games in quick succession at the KMM Energy Stadium.

We face opponents who have won both of their games this week as they followed up a commanding 4-0 triumph over Evesham United – a game which saw them score four goals in the opening quarter-of-an-hour – with Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Hanwell Town.

It leaves them just inside the top ten in the Premier South table as they get into their stride following a slow start to the campaign which saw Toby Little step up to take over as manager from his player-coach role.

For City, last weekend’s Isuzu FA Trophy victory at Slough Town was extra special for Harry Pinchard as he played his 100th game for the club.

Since joining us from Hereford ahead of the 2023/24 season, Pinchard’s attack-minded and dynamic displays have found favour with both team-mates and supporters alike.

“I am extremely proud to reach 100 games,” he said. “I’m really enjoying my football here; it’s such a good club to be part of with so many great people involved.

“There have been some real highlights since I first arrived here; probably the stand-out was the play-off game against Walton & Hersham where we came back from two goals down early on to eventually beat a very good side on penalties.

“It was nice to mark my 100th game with another shoot-out success and in doing so make FA Trophy progress at the expense of higher level opponents last Saturday.

“November is a big month with the games coming thick and fast. We go into each contest with a winning mindset; it’s important that we strive to reach the high standards that we have set each time we step onto the pitch.

“If we can do that, then I am sure we’ll get our rewards. We’ve adapted to how the manager wants us to play, but I still feel like we’ve got levels to go. There are big players to come back, so we’re only going to get stronger.

“The City fans also have a big role to play; they’ve been brilliant all season and really make a difference both home and away.

“Hopefully we can keep repaying them with results and good performances so that we can achieve our objectives.

“Successive home games now stand before us and we’ll be doing all that we can to make sure that home advantage counts in these two tricky encounters that lie ahead.”

Come and join us on Saturday! Kick-off is 3pm and your support is so important to us – get your tickets here...
