It’s a mouth-watering encounter for City on Saturday as we head to Poole Town.
Both teams are locked together on 61 points in second and third place with near identical records.
For City, we have received the necessary clearance for recent signing, Cuba Mitchell, to be part of the squad that travels to Tatnam Stadium
The signing of the highly-rated Mitchell has not only been well received here, but it’s also caused a stir 5,000 miles away!
The talented 20 year-old is a Bangladesh international who cut his football teeth at hometown club, Birmingham City, and then Sunderland before heading to Bashundhara Kings, of the Bangladesh top-flight, during the summer.
Developing a reputation as a technically-gifted and creative performer, the social media interest that we’ve had since his signing was announced suggests that he is a player who has made a real impression in South Asia.
It was his desire to make his mark on these shores has led him to the KMM Energy Stadium where he is ready to play an integral role in the run-in to the end of the season.
“I am over the moon to get this deal over the line,” he said. “When I came back here following my time in Bangladesh, I was made aware of the opportunity at City.
“Seeing how well the team is doing and hearing about the project at first-hand, it really excited me and it’s a challenge that I am looking forward to.
“I want to be able to show what I can do and add to what the team is doing. The upbringing that I had at both Birmingham City and Sunderland has benefitted me greatly, as has going to play abroad and representing my country, something that every young player aspires to.
“This is the next stage of my career; it’s an opportunity to try and establish a regular place at a good level and be part of a push for promotion.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and one that I intend to make the most of.
“I’m a central midfielder. I would like to think that I’m a creative player who likes to get on the ball and make things happen.
“I also like to do the dirty side of the game, so hopefully I can hit the ground running and start making an impact.”
For those heading to Dorset, we need you in good voice from the first minute to the last!
