There will be familiar opposition at the KMM Energy Stadium on Saturday as we take on Havant & Waterloovile (kick-off 3pm).
The Hampshire outfit were our last home opponents a couple of weeks ago when we ran out 1-0 winners in the Isuzu FA Trophy.
Now we do battle with League points up for grabs as City look to respond in the right way following our 4-3 reverse at Uxbridge last weekend.
On that occasion, Kane Simpson marked his debut for the club with a goal and now he is looking forward to getting into home action.
“As a striker, you always want to get off the mark as quickly as possible when you join a new club,” he said. “Whilst it was nice to get on the scoresheet last weekend, obviously it was disappointing the way the game panned out.
“It has only made us even more determined to respond in the right way on Saturday and I am looking forward to playing in front of the home fans for the first time.
“Joining City is an exciting move for me; I am joining a club whose ambitions match my own and the style of play here will really suit my own game.
“I’ve been made to feel really welcome and have settled in well. There’s a lot of quality within the dressing room and hopefully I can add to it and bring plenty of energy and a positive influence.
“This is a competitive League and every game presents its own challenges, but we have prepared well for Saturday and we can’t wait to get out there!”
City face opponents who go into the game in the bottom three with three wins from their 12 League games so far.
They too suffered late disappointment last weekend as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Berkhamsted.
There will be a minute’s silence ahead of kick-off as we remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We will think of them, along with all past and present service men and women, as we bow our heads together in silence before-kick off and show our respect.
