Preview | City straight back into home action on Tuesday

City get straight back into home action on Tuesday evening for the visit of Farnham Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

Hot on the heels of Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Chertsey Town, we will be looking to add to our points’ tally against opponents who have adapted well to life at this level following promotion at the end of last term.

Farnham Town arrive at the KMM Energy Stadium in sixth place in the table, having lost just two of their 15 League games so far.

We have already faced them this season, playing out an entertaining 3-3 draw in September, whilst they go into Tuesday’s encounter on the back of a good 3-1 away win at Uxbridge at the weekend.

“This is a big game for us as we face a strong Farnham Town side,” said manager, Daf Williams. “We have an idea of how they will set-up and we know that they will come here and fancy their chances.

“They will be well organised and well set up; they have a good manager and good players who have been difficult to beat so far this season.

“We will have to be right on the money in order to get a result, but we’re looking forward to the game. Our performance levels have been good recently and we’ve had the results to go alongside them.

“On Saturday we did well; the only slight disappointment was that we didn’t win by a bigger margin. Our decision-making in the final third needs to be better so that we can kill teams off when we get the opportunity.

“We know that we could have gone to another level in terms of being convincing, but ultimately I challenged the players to back up our victory in the previous game and we did that and with another clean sheet too, which is always pleasing.

“We’re taking things game by game and now our focus is fully fixed on the challenge that lies ahead on Tuesday. As always, the backing and support of our fans will also play an important role, so please come along and make some noise!”
