Preview | City looking to light up the KMM Energy Stadium

City return to home action on Friday evening for the visit of Yate Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

Having come home from Wimborne Town with a point from a 2-2 draw last weekend, on the back of our first home League defeat of the season at the hands of Farnham Town in our previous outing, we are determined to return to winning ways against opponents whose form has improved as they get to grips with the added demands of this level following promotion at the end of last term.

Manager, Daf Williams, is looking forward to a special atmosphere under the lights for this Friday night fixture.

“I’ve heard a lot about the atmosphere when a similar fixture took place last season,” he said. “Therefore I’d like to encourage everyone to produce a fantastic noise and get behind the lads as we look to get back into winning ways.

“The lads showed immense character and resilience to come back and earn a point last weekend away at Wimborne. We knew going into the game that it’s a very difficult place to go and get a result.

“Despite a bitterly disappointing start, the players did well to earn a point and were even disappointed not to get all three despite being 2-0 down at half time.

“For the standards we set ourselves as a group, November has been slightly disappointing having dropped a couple of points more than we would have liked. But our points return has remained respectable, especially having suffered a little at different stages with suspensions, injuries and plenty of knocks and niggles throughout the intense schedule.

“Now as we enter the busy month of December, it starts with what I expect to be a really difficult game against Yate Town.

“They find themselves in a great run of form and will provide us with a tough test, one that we will be ready for and with the backing of the City fans, we look forward to.

“Come and join us for Friday Night Lights and let’s add to our points tally!”

Friday’s game is going to be an occasion for all of the family to enjoy. There will be plenty happening here at the KMM Energy Stadium.

There will be fantastic food and drink, including the south-west famous Gurt Wings, who will be serving some delicious food, or why not grab yourself a slice from Openside Pizza or maybe pick up a football classic from Mike’s Kitchen?

With Christmas just around the corner, you’ll be able to do your retro football shopping at the pop-up stand from FitsZoo, whilst our Club Shop is packed with merch for that City-supporting loved one.

We’re also producing a special edition, 60-page, printed Matchday Programme, which will be bursting at the seams with great content covering all aspects of the club.

Come and be part of a great night. Under-12s go free and match tickets are on sale here...
