Preview | City look to start busy November on the right foot

City hit the road on Saturday as we head to Yate Town (kick-off 3pm).

Our hosts sit just above us in the table as we look to start the busy month of November as we mean to go on.

We go into the game on the back of a 2-2 home draw with Berkhamsted last weekend, an encounter which saw Harry Williams grab a late equaliser.

“It’s not good enough,” he admitted. “We were decent in the first half and took a one-goal lead into the break, but then we came out for the second half and conceded two goals in quick succession.

“It’s hard to put a finger on why things have not gone our way so far this season. The only way that we’re going to turn this around and start moving up the table is by sticking together.

“We have to show the right mentality and character, work hard and win our duels. It’s always nice to get my name on the scoresheet, but it counts for little if we’re not winning matches, particularly at home.

“The fans here are the best in the League, no question about that, and they deserve much better than we have given them so far this season.

“I ask them to stick with us because we will turn this around; we have enough quality here to be able to do that.

“We’re into November now and we have to get things moving. There’s a busy schedule of matches ahead of us and we’re ready for them, starting with Saturday’s trip to Yate Town, a place that is always tough to go to.

“But, as I say, we have the quality and ability to make things happen here and it has to start sooner or later.

“As a group we’ll be doing all we can to bring home the points on Saturday to take into our return to home action on Tuesday evening against a Malvern Town side who are also in and around us in the table, so these are important games for us.”
