Preview: Chester (a)

City get a busy December underway on Saturday when they travel to Chester.

Buoyed by two wins on the bounce, City will certainly be looking to make it three in a row against a good Chester outfit.

The Seals sit 12th in the table with 28 points from 18 games so far this season, but did become the first time to win at South Shields at the weekend.

The win was their first in five games, but it showed they can still beat anyone on their day.

They also boast the second best defence in the league so City will certainly have their work cut out in the north west.

Chester also played on Tuesday, securing a draw in Rushall, who sit just outside the relegation zone.

With City nine points from safety still, a win would go a long way to putting them in a good position ahead of a huge game against Darlington on the 16th of December.

Player to watch: Christian Norton.

Plenty of players will catch the eye, but none more than striker Christian Norton. The striker joined the club a month ago and has slotted straight into the team.

He joins with some real pedigree, having played in League One in the last two season at Cheltenham Town, and also has played for Wales at youth level.

He hasn’t scored as of yet, but his work rate and ability can’t be questioned and he will most certainly test an improving City defence.

Last meeting: City 1-1 Chester

Last time out against Chester City claimed a credible score draw coming from behind.

The away side took the lead when Adam Thomas scored and were favourites to take all three points from there.

However, City hit back through an own goal by Kieran Coates and held out to take a point which set us on our way in our late play off charge.
