Gloucester City AFC travelled to the Hartpury Stadium where a spot in the next round of Isuzu FA trophy awaits Gloucester City via a penalty shootout.

The first five minutes saw the Tigers knocking the ball around with confidence, often looking for the switch of play which regularly saw Emmett and Watts on the ball early.

With very few chances coming from a strong spell in possession, the first opportunity arrived within 13 minutes with Aaron Wildig having just the keeper to beat, before the linesman put his flag up.

Chances continued to pile on Hartpury with Williams creating a brilliant chance but no Gloucester city shirt could connect.

Hartpury from here started to force their own chances with multiple looking threatening.

With the first half closing, it was all Hartpury with efforts forcing Tigers Keeper Jared Thompson equal to the effort.

With the teams going in at 0-0, It was Gloucester City who came out with dangerous intent after Sion Spence’s effort from a Harry Pinchard corner flashed narrowly wide.

With the game evening out and very much in the balance both teams elected to go to the bench with Sopuruchukwu Obieri looking to add to his tally.

With a hour gone , both teams struggled to find the killer pass and unlock either’s defence.

70 minutes gone and King Baidoo was introduced for Joe Hanks, with the Tigers opting for speed as Gloucester still searched for the opener.

Plenty of threaded passes hitting the line for Baidoo, Obieri and Watts to chase but the Hartpury defence stood firm.

Hartpury went close with a switch of the play with fell to the edge of the box and with a wicked deflection, Thompson managed to secure it in his grasp.

Kieran Phillips was introduced with Ellis Watts making way. Gloucester were now going for it.

With the game edging closer and closer to penalties, it was Gloucester who were having all the chances late on.

Gloucester couldn’t find the opener in normal time with four corners, So penalties was now the way to decide who has a spot in the next round.

It was Gloucester City who won in sudden death (5-4) and we now await the draw on Monday to find out our next opponent.
