Gloucester City defeated Sholing FC 2-1 at New Meadow Park on Saturday, thanks to goals from Joe Hanks, and a late penalty from Harry Pinchard.
The three points means the Tigers remain second in the league.
It was a quiet first ten minutes, as both sides saw limited opportunities, with the ones they got from set-pieces producing nothing of note.
However, a set-piece would prove fruitful for City just a few minutes as a well-worked routine saw the ball fall into a sea of bodies in the bid, before number 13, Joe Hanks, smashed it off the bar and in, to give the hosts the lead after 13 minutes.
The visitors would respond almost immediately with a goal of their own, as a tidy through ball found Jake McCarthy, who hit a cushioned pass across goal to Vinnie Tume, who poked it in for the equaliser, in the 16th minute.
End-to-end action would follow, as both sides found themselves with possession in the opposition half, however, neither team were able to create any real opportunities.
City would soon have a fantastic opportunity to take the lead, as Dylan Jones was beyond the keeper, but couldn't squeeze it in at the far post, before Sion Spence's rebounded effort struck the bar.
Sholing started to attack the City goal as the half came to a close, and started the second 45 in the same vein, however, some brilliant saves from Jared Thompson kept the scoreline at one apiece.
Once again, the game wouldn't see much action, as the most noteworthy moment came in the 69th minute, when the visitors received a red card, with Blaise Riley-Snow being sent off for the away side, after bringing down Sion Spence near the edge of the box.
Chances for either side would continue to be hard to come by, despite City launching a few crosses in the box, they'd all be put over the bar.
It would be heartbreak for the Visitors in the closing moments, as Soporuchukwu Obieri was fouled in the box in the 90th minute, winning a penalty for City.
Harry Pinchard stepped up, and tucked it away to take the lead in the 92nd minute, keeping all three points in Gloucester.
We travel away to Bracknell Town FC on Monday, October 13.
Our next home game is against Poole Town on Saturday, October 18.
