Club Statement: Dafydd Williams

Gloucester City AFC are delighted to announce that manager Daf Williams has signed a new contract extension keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028.

Since arriving at the club, Williams has helped drive a clear identity on and off the pitch, building a competitive squad and reconnecting supporters with an exciting brand of football. Under his leadership, City have continued to make significant progress, with strong performances throughout the current campaign.

The new long-term agreement reflects the club’s confidence in Williams’ vision, leadership and commitment to the long-term future of Gloucester City.

Williams said:

“I’m delighted to be extending my contract until the summer of 2028. As I’ve always said to be the manager of Gloucester City is something I’m extremely proud of, and I’ve loved my time at the club so far. The football club is in great hands with the chairman and I’m extremely grateful to him for the opportunity and continued support. We have a strong working relationship and will do our utmost to turn this clubs fortunes around and bring success to our brilliant supporters.

“We’ve had a positive season in many ways despite having to overcome a number of setbacks on and of the pitch. But once again with a togetherness, and an all in mentality I am convinced this club is on the right path to achieving success.

“As always, I’d like to thank our supporters for their constant backing since the first day I arrived at the club, to the last game of the season in the Play Off final which ended in disappointment.

“Your loyalty and passion is what drives me and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all together.

“It has been a real pleasure working closely with Daf throughout his first season at the club, and from the moment he arrived it was clear that he brought huge passion, professionalism, and ambition to the role. He has worked tirelessly to help move the football club forward and has fully embraced everything we are trying to build both on and off the pitch.

“The standards he sets every single day are remarkable. His preparation, attention to detail, and commitment to improving every area of the football club have been outstanding, and that attitude has had a massive influence on the players and staff around him. He has created a culture that demands hard work, togetherness, and pride in representing the club, and that is something everybody connected with the club can appreciate.

“We strongly believe that he is the right person to continue leading this project into the future, and we are delighted that he has committed himself to the club until the summer of 2028. There is still a lot of hard work ahead, but we are excited about what the future can bring with Daf at the helm.
