AUSTIN SAMUELS SIGNS FOR CITY

Gloucester City AFC are delighted to announce the signing of forward Austin Samuels, who arrives at the KMM Energy Stadium following a spell with Southern League Premier South side Malvern Town.

The 25-year-old attacker joins Dafydd Williams' squad bringing a wealth of experience from across the English and Scottish football pyramids, having previously represented the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Born in Wolverhampton, Samuels progressed through the youth ranks at Wolves, joining the club at the age of seven and working his way through the academy to earn involvement with the first-team squad. A former England youth international, he gained valuable senior experience during loan spells with Kidderminster Harriers, Bradford City and Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

In January 2022, Samuels made a permanent move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he spent over two seasons competing in the Scottish Championship. During his time in the Highlands, he was also part of the squad that reached the Scottish Cup Final in 2023, where Inverness faced Celtic at Hampden Park.

Following his departure from Inverness, the forward joined fellow Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton before returning to English non-league football, representing Rushall Olympic, Spennymoor Town and Alfreton Town.

Most recently, Samuels joined Malvern Town in August 2026, adding further experience to his career in the Southern League Premier South. He opened his goalscoring account for the Hillsiders in September, finding the net against Redditch United in the Emirates FA Cup.

Capable of operating through the middle or in wide attacking positions, Samuels is known for his pace, power and ability to stretch opposition defences, providing City with another exciting option in the final third.

First-Team manager Daf Williams on bringing Austin Samuels into the club.

"Austin is a player that’s caught my eye for a few months now. He’s a talented individual who has many years left in his career to reach his full potential. Hopefully we can provide him with that platform to showcase his ability. His attributes and strengths are something that we lack in the group currently, and I’ve no doubt that Austin will come and make a difference."

Everyone at Gloucester City AFC would like to welcome Austin to the club and wish him every success during his time at the club.

Welcome to City, Austin!
