A festive message from the chairman to all of our supporters, volunteers and sponsors.

To the Gloucester City AFC fans,

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year as the holiday season is here. In addition to celebrating with loved ones, this time of year is unique for thinking back on the journey our club has taken over the year and is taking at this minute in time.

Both on and off the pitch, 2024 has been a year of great moments on and off the pitch. We owe a lot to the fans and a lot of the positives we have endured has been fuelled by your steadfast support, whether it has been at The TigerTurf, following us away from home, or even those who follow this club from afar and remotely. Together, we've overcome obstacles, enjoyed successes and I hope that we can push on right through until the end of the season.

I also want to thank our brilliant volunteers, who go under the radar and are out of the spotlight, however the club would be at a big loss without them. To those in the kitchen, the bar staff, the media team and many, many more.

And finally, I want to take the opportunity to thank you sponsors for your ongoing support and collaboration with us at Gloucester City AFC.

Thank you all for your support, and we hope to see as many of you as possible tomorrow at the TigerTurf, for what is set up to be a brilliant game against Swindon Supermarine.

From all of us at Gloucester City, may your holidays be filled with joy, laughter, and hopefully some footballing magic tomorrow.

Here’s to a fantastic New Year!

Colin Taylor

Chairman

Gloucester City AFC

A festive message may carry warmth, hope, and a gentle reminder of togetherness, creating a sense of joy that could brighten someone’s special day. It might express gratitude for shared moments and offer wishes for prosperity, peace, and new beginnings that seem full of possibility. During celebrations, even small efforts, perhaps organizing gatherings or updating daily essentials such as router settings for smooth connections, could make the occasion feel more comfortable and connected. Such thoughtful words may strengthen bonds and open chances for happiness in the coming days. In this way, a simple festive message might turn into a meaningful gesture that leaves a lasting impression and inspires positive energy for the future.

Granny’s knitting scarlet-and-white scarves by the fire; she waves at Chairman Colin on her tablet and chuckles, “Tell the boys I’ll be cheering louder than the kettle tomorrow—my mince pies are packed for Swindon!”

Snowed-in at Swindon services, minibus heater dead, I replay the chairman’s Christmas clip on my phone: Colin’s voice, the TigerTurf roar, tomorrow’s kick-off. I stamp feeling back into my feet, thumb a rideshare, whisper “volunteers needed”—and suddenly I’m the escaperoad, hitching toward the magic.
