Saturday 21/08, we welcome York City to New Meadow Park. It will be our first league game with fans in Gloucester in 14 years, against a club with a great history who are one of the favourites for the title.
But it’s more than that. It’s a new beginning.
For us it’s the biggest game of football played in the city for nearly a quarter of a century and we are asking the people of Gloucester to get behind us.
Over the past 14 years we’ve survived a devastating flood and a global pandemic, and we are extremely grateful to our loyal core of followers for their unwavering support throughout. But now that we are home, the time has come to draw a line under that period of our history and begin a new chapter starting next Saturday: one that we hope will take us to places we’ve never been before.
At the Needham Market game last December we saw what was possible, but it was an occasion muted by Covid restrictions. Now is the time for everyone in the city to welcome their club back home and show the footballing world that Gloucester wants and deserves a successful professional football team.
We know that over our years in exile we have lost some of you to other local clubs. We know that football isn’t always considered to be the number one sport in the city. But we also know that Gloucester has a rich footballing tradition dating back centuries. From Tuffley to Longlevens, Hardwicke to Tredworth, Abbeymead to Gala, Quedgeley to Hucclecote and beyond - clubs and communities where some of our most celebrated players began their careers, and the traditional heartland of our support. We know that they are as proud to represent Gloucester as we have been for 138 years.
So whether you have never been to a game before or you haven’t been for years, Saturday at 3pm is your chance to become a part of our story. We can’t guarantee the result, but we can guarantee that the players will entertain and give their all on the pitch, and with your support we can create an incredible atmosphere and have a taste of what the future could bring.

Ever Forward.
