yaser kasim joins the kingy revolution

Gloucester City AFC are delighted to confirm the arrival of Iraq international midfielder, Yaser Kasim.

He arrives at the Tiger Turf Stadium with a wealth of EFL and international experience having wracked up 150 appearances during his time in League football, while representing his country on 21 occasions.

CEO, Jay Marriott has this to say:

We are delighted to welcome Yaser to the club, we have always held fast to the notion of quality over quantity. This is another example of the type of players Steven can attract to the club and the support both Alex and Eamonn have showed to keep us pushing this season. We hope fans can be patient because the approach is clearly working with exciting signings arriving here at the Tiger Turf.

Baghdad-born Kasim spent time as a youth with Tottenham Hotspur’s U18s before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in 2010. Having made one league appearance with the Seagulls, he enjoyed loan spells at Luton Town and Macclesfield Town before joining Swindon Town permanently in 2013.

He spent four seasons in League One at the County Ground, netting eight goals in 139 appearances for the Robins, including a start at Wembley in their 2015 League One play-off final defeat to Preston North End.

A move to Northampton Town followed in 2017, before leaving for the Swedish top flight with Örebro SK in January 2019 prior to a move back to Iraq with Erbil and then Zakho before returning to England.

Fans not traveling today will have to wait until next weekend for Yaser's home debut. Tickets are on sale NOW click HERE!
