Gloucester City are pleased to announce the signing of Southampton striker Benni Smales-Braithwaite on loan until January.
Benni, 19, joined Southampton after leaving the Manchester City Academy in 2018. Since then, he has been a regular in their u18 squad, whilst more recently he has been promoted to the Southampton B team, who now play in Premier League 2, Division 2.
City Manager, Paul Groves, told us that he was "pleased to bring Benni to the club. Southampton are renowned for their Academy system and for the players that they produce, so I'm pleased to bring a player like Benni to the club."
"He brings with him a good eye for goal but also a strong technique. He's an intelligent player with versatility, and has the ability to play just behind the attacking line when we need that change added Groves.
