Welcome, Ben Richards-Everton!

Gloucester City AFC is delighted to announce the signing of centre back Ben Richards-Everton.

The 6'5 defender has a wealth of experience in the Football League and National League after starting his playing career in non league, with over 350 senior appearances to his name. Ben, 31, played against City for Hinckley United early on in his career but soon earned a move to then SPL side Partick Thistle in 2014, and went on to feature for Accrington Stanley, Bradford City, Barnet, Yeovil and Scunthorpe.

The signing has been made possible thanks to a contribution from Gloucester City Supporters Trust, which the club wishes to place on record its appreciation for. You can become a member of the Supporters Trust here.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have secured Ben's services, I brought him to Barnet from Bradford City and know what an asset he'll be to us. We've been after him all summer and we've worked hard to get him here. He's not played a lot of football recently because he had a knee injury last season and he's going to have to get fit on the job, so I'm not expecting him to come in and be Rio Ferdinand straight away but he'll get fitter, he's got pace and physicality which you need in this league, and he's got that bit of experience and know-how. I had told the players that I was going to bring bodies in to help them and they are delighted with this too. The Supporters Trust have contributed towards this and it’s wonderful, I'd like to thank them very much. We can’t do it all on our own, it’ll be all hands to the pump this season and it’s a wonderful gesture and very much appreciated." - Tim Flowers

Ben will wear the number 14 shirt and will be giving his first interview to the club tomorrow evening.
