Sky Blues prospect MacKenzie Stretton signs for City on loan until the end of the season

City have added to our options with the loan signing of highly-rated Coventry City prospect, MacKenzie Stretton.
After decade in the Sky Blues’ Academy, Stretton earned his first professional contract during the summer.
Having continued his development in their U21 team this season, he is now ready for the next stage of his journey with some competitive action between now and the end of the campaign.
Described as a versatile performer with a great work ethic on and off the ball, he favours a role in the heart of midfield.
"I've been waiting a long time to come out on loan", said Stretton during his signing interview. "Seeing it was Gloucester I am over the moon and I cannot wait to get started.
"I was just chilling at the gym and got a phone call saying that Gloucester had enquired about me, from then it has been phone call to phone call and yes, just excited to get it done. I will be putting in big tackles, making forward runs, passing the ball forwards and trying to create as many goals for this team as possible."
"Oh I am more than excited to join at this stage, being second in the league pushing promotion, I just cannot wait to get on board and help the lads as much as possible."

“He is a talented individual, left footed, and can play different roles in midfield, as well as left-back. He’s very highly thought of at Coventry, so we’re delighted to have him on board for the run-in ahead.”
