City return to home action on Saturday as we take on Wimborne Town (kick-off 3pm).
Having conceded a late leveller to draw 2-2 at play-off hopefuls, Chertsey Town, last weekend, we will be looking to make home advantage count as we take on opponents who sit in the middle of the table.
“We’re expecting a really tough challenge,” admitted manager, Daf Williams. “We saw at first-hand in the reverse fixture back in November what they are capable of. We had to show plenty of resilience then to overturn a two-goal first half deficit to get a point from a 2-2 draw.
“Their form since then hasn’t been great, but we will need to be at it if we are to get the result that we all crave at the weekend.
“We’ve actively made a few changes to the group in recent weeks with a view to seeing an upturn in performances and results following what was a poor January.
“The new additions have certainly freshened the squad up and settled in well, which is important. They have brought much-needed quality in certain areas as we prepare for the run-in to the end of the season.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the progress that we’ve made off the pitch over recent weeks, which has certainly made a difference to our performances and results. We still need to bring in one or two new faces to strengthen our options, but we’re moving in the right direction and hopefully this can continue on Saturday.”
