City hit the road once more this weekend as we head to Sholing (kick-off 3pm).
We find ourselves up against opponents who sit just outside the top five. Sholing go into the game on the back of two games without a win as last weekend’s 1-1 home draw with Berkhamsted, where their visitors levelled late on, came after defeat at Bracknell Town in their previous outings.
As far as City are concerned, we will be looking for a response to Tuesday’s set-back at Walton & Hersham where we went down to a 2-0 reverse at the hands of the League leaders.
Our last two games have seen emerging defender, Jamal Mohammed, start amongst the back-line after the youngster arrived on a one-month loan from West Bromwich Albion.
“It’s important for me to be able to make that jump into competitive football,” he said. “The time is right for me to now start playing regular men’s football and I have enjoyed being involved in the last two games.
“I was pleased to make a winning start against Tiverton Town last weekend and although the result didn’t go our way on Tuesday, which we were all disappointed about, it was nice to get another game under my belt.
“I want to be able to show what I can do and make a positive impact here. We’ve worked hard in preparation for what will be another tough game at the weekend, but it’s a challenge that I am looking forward to.
“I am the type of player who likes to get on the ball and be able to express myself, so hopefully I will be able to do that on Saturday and help us bring home three points.”
We encourage as many of you as possible to make the trip in support of City.
