Preview | Daf bursting with pride
City are in Emirates FA Cup fourth round qualifying replay action here at the KMM Energy Stadium on Tuesday evening as we play host to National League outfit, Barrow AFC (kick-off 7.45pm).
A place in the first round proper and a trip to Gillingham awaits the winner of the tie, which must be decided on the night.
A hard-earned goalless draw at the weekend saw us secure the right to bring the tie back here.
“The level of performance and character the players showed on Saturday to earn themselves a replay was fantastic,” beamed manager, Daf Williams. “Barrow are not only an in-form team in The National League, but also much feared by many two levels higher due to the quality and physicality they possess.
“Many big sides of late have tried and failed to get a result against Adam Murray’s team, which shows how much of an achievement it is to have gone there on Saturday and come away with a deserved 0-0 draw.
“We had our moments in the game, and we can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed that we couldn’t capitalise on one of those chances. But we rode our luck at times and in truth Barrow will feel equally as disappointed not to have taken their chances.
“The boys earned that bit of luck, which you need in games like this, through their defensive display and how incredibly hard they worked, fought and battled.
“Not only did I come away from the game incredibly proud of each one of the players, and staff, but also the incredible supporters that made the journey. We can’t thank you enough for making the long trip and hopefully we can finish the job off at home.”
Come and show your support! Please remember that season-tickets are not valid for Emirates FA Cup ties.
Let’s do all we can to get into that first round proper of this fantastic competition.
