Preview: City v Hereford

Gloucester City will welcome Hereford FC to TigerTurf Stadium tomorrow in what will be another crucial game for the Tigers.

City head into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Kettering Town on Friday. However, Lee Mansell’s men will be looking to bounce back with a much-needed win against an 11th place Hereford.

The last time City played Hereford was back in January of this year where they came out on the wrong end of a 2-1 result. Matt Green scoring the only goal for City that day. In fact, the last time City beat Hereford was back in 2020 where Matt McClure netted the only goal to secure a 0-1 win for the Tigers.

As always, the atmosphere at TigerTurf will be booming and I’m sure the supporters will get right behind City as they aim to make this a vital bank holiday victory.

Speaking ahead of this game Lee Mansell said:

“We’ve got to go in on Monday full steam. It’ll be a tasty occasion they’re (Hereford) are obviously going for the playoffs and we need a win to secure our status in the league. So, we will go full board to go out and get that much needed victory”.

A win for City tomorrow will be pivotal in their aim of staying in the division and will once again give the team a real boost of confidence heading into the last four games of the season.
