City get back into League action on Saturday as we head to in-form Havant & Waterlooville.
Having seen our Isuzu FA Trophy journey come to an end last weekend following a penalty shoot-out defeat at National League North outfit, Marine, we are now realigning of focus to strengthening our place amongst the Premier South front-runners.
“The lads were magnificent last weekend,” said manager, Daf Williams. “They deserved so much more from our performance, but ultimately we need to realign our focus now to the League, which has always been our main priority.
“If we show the characteristics that were on display at Marine, we’re in for an exciting and enjoyable couple of months.
“We can only control what we do; it’s about us and we’ll approach the next couple of months in the right way to finish the season as strongly as we can and see where we are.
“It’s all about our next game. It will be a difficult one, there’s no doubt about that, as we take on opponents who are in really good form.
“But we’ll be ready for the task ahead of us as we look to get back into winning ways.”
Our last League outing saw us come back from two goals down to share the spoils with Evesham United in a 2-2 draw.
We have already beaten Havant & Waterlooville twice this season, following up a 1-0 triumph in the Isuzu FA Trophy with a 3-2 League success in November.
The Hampshire outfit found themselves in the lower reaches of the table when we last met, but now they sit eighth following six wins and a draw from their last seven games, during which time they have hit 23 goals.
