City return to home action on Tuesday evening with the visit of Taunton Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

We head into the game on the back of a 3-1 away win at Hanworth Villa on Saturday, to leave us three points behind Tuesday’s opponents who sit in the middle of the table having slipped to a 2-1 home reverse at the hands of Hanwell Town at the weekend.

“It will be nice to get back home following a positive week on our travels,” said manager, Daf Williams. “We put in a good shift at Mulbarton and then Hanworth, where we brought home a deserved three points on Saturday.

“I’ve said for a while that this group has a fantastic spirit; it’s a good changing room with good people and players. That has been evident over recent weeks, and I’m so pleased for the group that they have picked up some results to match their efforts and performances.

“As always, I will never hide from reality or the truth. It’s important that we back that performance on Saturday and in recent games, on Tuesday evening in what is sure to be a difficult fixture, but one that we are looking forward to as a group.

“I expect Taunton to be well-organised, aggressive, hard-working and on the front-foot, but if we reach the standards that we have done recently, it will stand us in good stead.

“Ahead of some long away trips, we need to ensure that we make home advantage count and to be able to do that we need our support behind us every step of the way, which I am sure you will be.”
