Preview: Blyth (H)

Gloucester City will welcome Blyth Spartans to TigerTurf Stadium tomorrow in what will be the final game of the 2021/22 league season. City head into the game after an eventful 1-1 draw away at Boston United on Monday. This time it was Lucas Tomlinson netting another injury time equaliser for the Tigers helping them travel back to Gloucester with a well-deserved point. The visitors Blyth will arrive at TigerTurf three points behind City and currently sit in 19th place having already secured safety. However, Terry Mitchell’s men are unbeaten in their last three league games earning seven points from a possible nine. City found themselves on the end of a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Blyth back in January, therefore Lee Mansell will want to set the record straight and get the victory this time around in front of the home supporters. City will be looking to make it five games unbeaten and end the season on a positive note after surviving relegation from the division. “It’s been a good end to the season and next week we want to go full on. Hopefully we’ll get a lot of numbers through the gate that will be brilliant and create more of an atmosphere. We’re slowly starting to turn this ship around and and the summer is going to be a very important time for us.” Mansell said ahead of tomorrow’s game.
