Gloucester City AFC is delighted to welcome back Mike Cook who has been appointed Men's First Team Manager.
We also welcome back Marc McGregor who joins as Assistant Manager, Andy Hoskins who becomes First Team Coach, and Phil Clarke who joins as Head of Analysis.
Mike is a former player, assistant and manager at City, having guided the club to safety in a memorable spell from 2019 to 2020 where he attained the highest points per game tally of any City manager in the last 25 years.
He joins from Swindon Town Women, a role he has held since April, and prior to that he had a successful tenure at Chippenham Town in the National League South.
Mike takes over with immediate effect and will be in charge for our trip to Darlington on Saturday after which he has a fortnight to work with the squad before the home match against Chorley on Saturday 7th October.
I'm proud and humbled to be back managing Gloucester City. We're really excited to be here, we've got unfinished business anwe're going to give it everything we've got starting with Darlington on Saturday.
Chairman Patrick Chambers said:
I'm delighted to welcome Mike to the club along with Marc, Andy and Phil. He was my number one choice and I had no hesitation in appointing him as manager. This appointment is for where we are as a club now, and I'd like to ask all of our supporters to get fully behind Mike and the team.
