Gloucester City’s penultimate pre-season runout ended in a 2-1 victory over Worcester City.
City started brightly, with the trialists providing plenty of attacking spirit early on, with plenty of opportunities coming and going.
The reward for their endeavour came in the 27th minute when Trialist B smashed home the opener after running at the Worcester defence with pace.
City’s threat from set pieces nearly resulted in a second just after the half hour mark, but the header from a corner was narrowly off target.
Things took a turn on the cusp of half time when Jared Thompson was shown red for a handball outside the box, with Conor Thompson taking his place.
The resulting free kick was fired into the bottom corner by Felix Miles with the last kick of the half to leave us level at the break.
The start of the second half saw Worcester reduced to 10 themselves, as ex-City player Spencer Hamilton saw red for a tackle just outside the box.
The game entered a lull for most of the half before some brilliant work from Sopuruchukwu Obieri allowed Kieran Phillips to tap in a late winner in front of the T-End.
