Match Report | Bracknell Town vs Gloucester City

Gloucester City suffer back to back defeats after two quick second half goals condemned The Tigers to a 3-2 defeat at Bracknell Town.

The hosts had the first opening of the game when winger Ruben Bartlett-Antiwi found some space on the left hand side only to see his effort saved by Thompson in the Gloucester goal. Shortly after the winger saw another good opportunity fall to him on the counter attack that was well defended by City.

With 15 minutes on the clock the first controversy of the game occured when Bracknell were convinced they had taken the lead when winger Lynford Sackey saw his curling effort come off the underside of the crossbar with the home side sure it had gone in.

However the home sides' pressure finally got what they deserved after tremendous wing play from Dara Dada who squared to Bartlett-Antiwi who had a simple finish into the back off the net to give Bracknell the lead.

Then City with their first real chance of the game equalised when good work down the left from Ethan Dunbar resulted in the Bracknell defender steering it into his own net to level up the scores just before half time.

The second half couldn’t of started any better for the hosts when two minutes in the dangerous winger Bartlett-Antiwi found himself through on goal and finished through the grasp of Thompson.

The home sides quick start to the half continued when captain Harry Cooksley made it three after another quick counter-attack to compound a terrible start to the second half for City.

Just after the hour mark Ashley Hemmings had a great opportunity to pull one back for the Tigers when his header from close range cannoned off the post and then away to safety by the Bracknell defence.

These chances eventually paid off when Ed Williams pulled a goal back for City with a smart finish, shortly after the hosts missed a great opportunity too add a fourth and all but seal all three points for Bracknell.

However despite the late pressure it wasn’t to be for City as Bracknell held on for a valuable three points.
