Inside Man: Ben’s Blog

Defender Ben Nugent checks in with the latest goings on inside the City camp…

After another tough game against a strong Brackley team on Saturday, it was back to the training pitch Monday. We’re under no illusion as a squad that we are going through a tough period and with various key players missing who are slowly filtering back into the frame, February and March are key months for City.

Despite our current position, training has been upbeat and competitive all week. Young Jack Hill has been amongst it this week who was a stand out performer in his 10-minute cameo against Brackley where he showed real bottle. As well as Jack Hill there have been an influx of young lads who have brought a youthful feel around the place, and they have all showed professionalism and energy. Alongside training, we were in the gym on Tuesday afternoon for a good little blast.

We are fully aware of the magnitude of our game against Farsley Celtic tomorrow

The tendency when a team isn’t getting the rub of the green is to stop doing the right things and the one thing I will say is that we are continuing to train hard and remain positive. The group has a great mix of characters who will undoubtedly start to turn this season as we approach the back end. We are fully aware of the magnitude of our game against Farsley Celtic tomorrow and will all be pulling in the same direction for the remainder of the season.

The City squad feels the fans frustration and we need support from you guys, now more than ever, to surge forward for the last 17 games.
