Foundation | Hillside Primary School visit

The Gloucester City Foundation were joined by first-team manager, Daf Williams, for a recent visit to Hillside Primary School to deliver a mental health chat and football coaching to Year 6 pupils.

Foundation coaches Sue and Cobey were also on hand for the first of a programme of activities that we are planning in Matson and Robinswood.

“The visit was extremely well received by the children,” said Sue. “It started with a Q&A session with Daf where he talked with the kids about their favourite teams and players.

“Then we did a training session on ball control and dribbling before splitting into four teams and playing two games at a time where Daf coached one and both Cobey and I the other.

“The youngsters were really engaged throughout. There was a good mix of boys and girls of all abilities and it was great to see so many City supporters amongst them!

“We look forward to continuing our work in this area from September onwards and we thank everyone at Hillside Primary School for making us so welcome.”
