Gloucester city hosted league winners Walton and Hersham for the final time in the Southern Premier League.

The first kick of the game went to Walton and Hersham who kicked us off at the KMM with a rather audacious effort from the centre circle.

The Swans were quick to show off their attacking qualities testing Daniel Leadbitter at the back post.

Ten minutes gone and the Swans were confidently knocking it around, exploiting the channel’s with Francis Amartey looking the main threat.

Jared Thompson made a brilliant save to keep out Walton captain Dawid Rogalski.

Out of nothing, a lovely dinked pass finds Wildig who found himself through on goal and unselfishly squared to number 9 Kieran Phillips to put the Tigers one up against league leaders.

Gloucester continued to oppose an attacking threat with Michael O’ Regan narrowly missing the net off of a corner.

Another opportunity rose for Kane Simpson who forced Swans keeper Jos Barker to palm away to safety.

30 minutes gone and King Baidoo finds space on the byline, he delivered a cross that brushed over the bar from Hanks. A golden opportunity to double the lead.

With one minute of additional time remaining in the first half, good defending was required from Leadbitter to prevent Oupoh having any chance of testing Thompson.

It took less than two minutes into the second half and we get another fast start, Wildig wins the ball in the midfield and plays a lovely through ball into Kieran Phillips whose shot was narrowly wide.

Another golden opportunity not taken by the Tigers, a lovely through ball into Phillips with the keeper to beat but unable to keep it on target. Gloucester’s dominance is deserving of a second goal.

Gloucester opted for fresh legs in the 55th minute with James Waite replacing Aaron Wildig.

Walton were unable to make anything of their chances. A free kick in a dangerous area hits the wall.

Gloucester rolled on Keiran Thomas and Sion Spence, replacing Daniel Leadbitter and Ed Williams. Perhaps preserving key players for next week’s Playoff game.

Walton first dangerous chance comes from Rogalski who brushes past the post.

Kane Simpson found himself open and squared it to Joe Hanks who misses a sitter from 10 yards out.

Walton and Hersham opted for thier first substitution of the afternoon seeing Oupoh replaced by Hubynets.

Again , another chance down the flank with King Baidoo putting it into the area but no City shirt to steer it home.

Final subs from Gloucester saw King Baidoo and Kieran Phillips make way for Rylie Siddall and Liam Cross.

Hubynets gets past O’Regan and has a three on one but fires it down the throat of Jarrod Thompson.

Man of the match was awarded to King Baidoo.

With just two minutes till the 90, Gloucester continue to pile on the pressure with a lovely delivery that was unable to find the head of Joe Hanks.

Full time and Gloucester city win 1-0 in the final game of the season which sees the Tigers finish 3rd in the division.

You can really feel the tempo building right from kickoff. The Swans moving the ball well and exploiting the channels shows how organized they were going forward. It’s the kind of start that keeps fans on edge. It feels similar to Block Blast, where quick decisions set the tone early.

That was a fantastic and well-fought performance from Gloucester City to close out the season on such a high note. The team showed real composure, attacking intent, and defensive resilience throughout the match, especially against strong opposition like Walton and Hersham. Players like King Baidoo and Kieran Phillips stood out, and it’s clear the squad is building great momentum heading into the playoffs.

It’s always inspiring to see such dedication and teamwork come together at the right time of the season. Performances like this not only energize the supporters but also strengthen the club’s presence and visibility—something that even a professional seo company in mumbai would appreciate when talking about building a strong and consistent digital and community presence.

Looking forward…
