City add defender Jamal Mohammed on a short-term loan deal

City have secured the services of emerging central defender, Jamal Mohammed, on a one-month loan from Sky Bet Championship club, West Bromwich Albion.

The 19 year-old has progressed well whilst coming through the Baggies’ ranks, establishing himself as a regular in the U21s and also getting a taste of senior football having signed his first professional deal in March 2024.

“Jamal is a top talent,” said manager, Daf Williams, of his latest acquisition. “He has fantastic physical and technical attributes and is craving competitive, senior football, which we can provide during his time here.

“There is an opportunity for him to come here and really make an impact during his time at the club.

“I would like to thank West Bromwich Albion and Chris Brunt for their help and support in getting this deal done and I look forward to having Jamal as part of our defensive options during what is an important period for us.”

Standing at 6’5”, he is a powerful performer who is comfortable on the ball. He joined Albion as a 15 year-old from Peterborough United.

His football education has continued at The Hawthorns; he overcame serious injury to make his mark over the course of the second half of last season, which also saw him feature on the bench in Sky Bet Championship fixtures against Burnley and Hull City in March 2025.

We welcome Jamal to the KMM Energy Stadium.
