Gloucester City are pleased to announce that former Gloucester City player Tyler Weir has rejoined the Club until the end of the season. Tyler began his career at Hereford United but came to City in February 2011 on a month loan where he scored his first senior goal against Stafford Rangers. After an impressive first month, the loan was extended to cover the rest of the season. His form with the Tigers earned him a new one-year contract with the Bulls to keep him at the club for the 2011/2012 season. He re-joined Gloucester City on a one month loan in August 2011 in order to provide cover for injuries within the Tigers squad, this was later extended until January where he then joined league rivals Worcester City until the end of the season. He has been plying his trade at Worcester City ever since but has now returned to Gloucester City for the coming campaign, a versatile player, he can play at left and right back or defensive midfield.

Upon putting pen to paper, Tyler had this to say,

“To be honest I’ve always felt that I’ve had unfinished business here and I’m really happy to be back. Things have changed since I was last year, everything is so much more professional and I can’t wait to get going and start helping the team get the points on the board and finally start moving up that table.”

Chris Todd added,

“When I spoke to Tyler, it was clear that he really wanted to play for the Club. It’s always great to get a player who has his home club at heart and Tyler is someone who will offer the squad that much needed experience and ability to play in a few positions.”
