Gloucester City Football Club has released an illustrated footprint plan of their scaled down new stadium to return the club into the City at Meadow Park, Sudmeadow Road, Hempsted.\r\n\r\nFeaturing a 4000 capacity stadium, to meet current grading requirements, it also allows for a minimum of 310 car parking spaces and four coach parking bays.\r\n\r\nFrom the original position of 2007 when floods devastated the stadium, this plan will see the club moving the stadium slightly towards Sudmeadow Road and being raised in height to protect the new Stadium and ensure that there is no further flood risk to the locality.\r\n\r\nIssuing the joint statement on behalf of both the Ltd Company and the Club Football Management Board, their football consultant Colin Peake said:\r\n\r\n“It is right, before more expenditure is committed to the project, to make this sensible decision by placing this illustrated plan into the public domain.\r\n\r\n”This step is crucial to see what reaction, if any, might arise before the planning team in the Ltd Company move forward to submitting plans to the Planning Committee.\r\n\r\n”No further comment therefore will be made at this stage.”\r\n\r\nYou can view the Footprint plan by clicking on this link.
