A duo of Gloucester City players have been recognised in the Severn Sport Team of the Month for August 2017.

Forward Ed Williams and defender Spencer Hamilton have both been selected in the team, made up of players plying their trade for Gloucestershire clubs, owing to their excellent form at the start of the season.

Both Williams and Hamilton have appeared in every game for the Tigers so far in the National League South season, with boss Tim Harris full of praise for the young pair, whilst also making the case for other members of his squad.

“Ed and Spencer have indeed been very good at the start of the season” said Harris. “For them to be recognised is testament to their play and I’m very happy for both of them.

“I would also add Joe Parker into that mix because I think he has been outstanding for us” the Tigers gaffer added, after Parker struck three goals in two games over the Bank Holiday weekend.

“I said on Monday that if people can look at players’ attitudes and desires, whether in the game or in training, Joe has set the benchmark no doubt.

“I never like to single players out but to have two in the squad is very pleasing.”

Three former Tigers also made the side, with Matt Coupe, Adam Connolly (both Cirencester Town) and Brett James (Tuffley Rovers) also being chosen.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Ed and Spencer on their selection into the team.
