Gloucester City Football Club are delighted to announce Tim Harris and central defender Robbie Cundy as the respective winners of the Vanarama National League North Manager and Player of the Month awards.\r\n\r\nThe Vanarama National League North has seen a number of sterling displays from clubs during the first month of 2016.\r\n\r\nFor sure no club is going to walk away with the Champion’s trophy, but it is not a manager from within the play-off position who takes the monthly plaudit.\r\n\r\nTim Harris has led his Tigers team to a remarkable sequence of undefeated performances chalking up four wins and a draw to follow up a very good December. This sequence has lifted the club from the relegation zone into ninth place.\r\n\r\nA stern test on the final day of the month saw City go up against the other form team of January, Boston United, where Harris and his men battled their way to a hard earned 1-0 victory against the Pilgrims.\r\n\r\nIt surely cannot be just a case of sheer coincidence that since 18 year old Robbie Cundy came into the Tigers defensive line up on loan from Oxford United, the club has shot up the table with wins a plenty and significantly a tightening up of overall defensive duties.\r\n\r\nThe icing on the cake came on the very last day of the month as City went up against Boston United as mentioned, and another clean sheet was added to the clubs impressive run.\r\n\r\nThe youngster again showed a maturity in excess of his tender years by being an equal amongst many experienced strikers who abound the Vanarama National League North.\r\n\r\nHe underlined his central defensive qualities by helping to shut out the hitherto rampant Pilgrims strike force. In the process he has helped his teammates find a new belief. Not a bad return from where they were when he joined in December.\r\n\r\nEveryone at Gloucester City Football Club would like to congratulate Tim and Robbie on their awards, and we hope to see you all this Saturday 6 February as we host Chorley at Whaddon Road.
