Gloucester City Football Club are delighted to have captured the signing of experienced defender Billy Jones.\r\n\r\n30 years old Jones, who lives in Gloucester, has a wealth of Football League experience with Leyton Orient, Exeter City, Crewe Alexandra, Cheltenham Town and more recently Newport County.\r\n\r\nHe will not be available for this evening’s Histon game due to the required international clearance and with Jack Harris due to start a three match ban for his recent sending off, the timing could not be more welcome.\r\n\r\nNew City manager Tim Harris commented: “I have known Billy for a while and he did extremely well at Newport County recently when he was there on a short term contract to cover an injury crisis.”\r\n\r\n“Billy has played over 300 League games and with us to lose the influential Jack Harris for his ban, he will add not only experience but good quality to the squad.”\r\n\r\nTigers Chairman Stuart Pike added “I am personally delighted on behalf of all at Gloucester City to welcome Billy Jones to the club.\r\n\r\nWe have an important game this evening at home to Histon, so if you can all get along to The Abbey Business Stadium this evening and support Tim and the players as we embark on a new era it would be very much appreciated.”\r\n
