Gloucester City Football Club is pleased to announce that they have secured a year long sponsorship deal with EDF Energy to meet costs involved for coach travel of the First Team squad to away matches in 2014. \r\n\r\nBesides the financial side of the partnership, the addition of such a major brand named company to the growing portfolio of businesses aligned to the Club is another coup for them off the field since the summer of 2013.\r\n\r\nTigers Chairman Stuart Pike is thrilled with the new sponsorship addition.\r\n\r\n“Slowly behind the scenes at the club, much has been going on unseen and the addition of EDF Energy to our portfolio of sponsors and partners is a testament to the hard work, which has seen a transformation of the club’s finances over the past 12 months.”\r\n\r\n“After employment wages, the cost of transporting the squad nationwide is a major expense, so to secure EDF Energy as our Team Travel sponsor for 2014 is great news.\r\n\r\n“We look forward to welcoming members of the EDF management team to our home game coming up on 28th January against Histon and putting faces to names.\r\n\r\n“We hope this is the start of a long association and that EDF can be useful to us with advice and expertise regarding our new stadium.”\r\n\r\nStuart Crooks, Managing Director of EDF Energy Generation, also expressed his delight at being partnered with Gloucester City.\r\n\r\n“I am heartened to see Gloucester City Football Club recovering after its recent setbacks.”\r\n\r\n“As one of the team’s local to EDF Energy’s Barnwood site, I am very pleased that we can support the club in this tangible way.\r\n\r\n“It hopefully means that the club can concentrate its efforts on developing a new home and so secure the club’s long term future.”\r\n\r\nPart of the deal concluded with EDF will see the EDF Energy logo being carried on the Team Coach, which is contracted to the Club by KB Coaches of Eastington.
