A further meeting of the club’s ground committee took place on the afternoon of the 5th of February to review progress on the new stadium project, as a result the club wishes to update on the progress so far.\r\n\r\nA lot of work has been completed to cost and assess the 45 conditions placed on the outline planning permission, and we now have a clear feel for the best way to fulfill these.\r\n\r\n”The scale of this work should not be underestimated, it is going to cost a further significant six figure sum to complete all of that work, and negotiations are going on with various third parties where we are able to receive funding against specific terms on that list,” explained chairman Mike Dunstan.\r\n\r\n”It is however the expectation of all around the table that we will be able to move to full planning and initial ground preparations within the next few months.\r\n\r\n”That stage would see the demolition of the old stadium and building up of the ground levels for the new one – it is something we are desperate to see, but it is essential that this stage is completed correctly to ensure there are no unnecessary delays or additional costs.”
