Born 03/05/1989 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Avery as a member of the successful Gloucester City youth set-up and made history in February 2005 when he became the first beneficiary of the Pete Chase Bursary, a fund created in the memory of the late Supporters Club member to aid young players with their expenses.\r\n\r\nAvery ‘almost’ made his debut for the first team when Tim Harris picked him as a substitute in the Gloucestershire Senior Cup game against Bristol Rovers on 28 February 2006 but his talents weren’t called upon. Signed for Bishops Cleeve from Chipping Norton Town during the summer of 2006 before signing for Chipping Norton from Gloucester City in 2005/06 and put in some excellent performances in the Hellenic Premier Division.\r\n\r\nIn July 2013 he joined Shortwood United and featured in their epic FA Cup run culminating in the televised game against Port Vale in the First Round in November 2013 and picked up the Players and Supporters Player of the Year at Shortwood United. Rejoined Gloucester City in May 2014. His brother, Dan, also played for Gloucester City and so did his uncle, Mark Buckland. He has matured into a solid and dependable defender.\r\n\r\nHe made his debut in a 3-3 draw against Bradford Park Avenue in the Conference North.\r\n
